Find the volume ratio of two oils needed to hit a target kinematic viscosity — the inverse of the ASTM D7152 blend.
Walther transform: W(v) = log10( log10( v + 0.7 ) ) For a target viscosity v_T with components A and B measured
at the same temperature:
x_A = ( W(v_T) − W(v_B) ) ÷ ( W(v_A) − W(v_B) )
x_B = 1 − x_A Results are the volume fraction of each oil (0–100%).Both viscosities must be at the same temperature, and the target must fall between the two component viscosities. Accuracy ≈ ±5% for petroleum oils.
