Treat Rate Calculator

Calculate the exact volume and weight of additive needed for any batch size, plus its TBN contribution.

Inputs

wt% is the standard used in TDS sheets.

Additive Properties
g/cm³
mgKOH/g
Calculated Results

Enter batch volume
and treat rate to calculate.

Formula & Methodology
Volume (L) = Batch Volume (L) × Treat Rate (%) ÷ 100 Weight (kg) = Volume (L) × Additive Density (g/cm³) For wt% treat rate (mass-based): Weight = Batch Volume × ρ_blend × TR% ÷ 100 (ρ_blend ≈ 0.87) Volume = Weight ÷ ρ_additive TBN Contribution = TBN_additive (mgKOH/g) × TR_wt% ÷ 100

Treat rate is specified as weight percent (wt%) or volume percent (vol%); they differ by density. wt% is the TDS convention.
