Predict the kinematic viscosity of a two-component blend using the ASTM D7152 Wright method.
Wright (Walther) blending method: W(v) = log( log( v + 0.7 ) ) ← Walther transform
W_blend = x_A·W(v_A) + x_B·W(v_B) ← volume-weighted
v_blend = 10^( 10^W_blend ) − 0.7 ← inverse transform where x_A, x_B = volume fractions (sum to 1.0).
Applied at 40 °C and 100 °C independently; blend VI from the two results.Accuracy ≈ ±5 % for typical petroleum blends. For esters / PAO results are indicative only.
