Quality & Testing

Every batch checked against its product specification before shipment — TDS, SDS, and COA standard with every order.

Every batch tested before it ships

Quality at CheMost means testing, not just paperwork. Every production batch is analysed against its release specification before it leaves the facility. The COA you receive reflects the actual test results for that specific lot — not a copy of the previous one.

Our Approach to Quality

We test every batch because specification drift is the most common cause of field problems with additive chemistry. A product that reads correctly on paper but varies in practice creates downstream formulation instability.

Every batch undergoes in-process monitoring and finished-goods release testing against its product specification, covering the physical and chemical properties relevant to lubricant additive applications using established test methods.

When a batch does not meet its release specification, it is placed on hold and does not ship until the issue is resolved. If a confirmed order is affected, we notify the customer promptly.

Documentation & Standards

Substance Identity & SDS

We provide GHS-format Safety Data Sheets and product substance identity and CAS information to support your own import, customs, and regulatory review.

GHS / SDS Compliance

All products ship with GHS-format Safety Data Sheets aligned with UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods for both air and sea freight.

Export Documentation

Certificate of Analysis (COA), TDS, SDS, Certificate of Origin, packing list, and HS code information are provided per shipment. Buyer-arranged third-party inspection can be supported on request.

Testing & Quality Control

CheMost quality control testing

Release testing covers the key physical and chemical parameters of each additive type; the specific parameters for a given product are listed on its TDS.

Standard finished-goods tests include:

  • TBN (Total Base Number) and TAN (Total Acid Number)
  • Elemental content: Zn, P, S, Ca, Mg
  • Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C and 100 °C
  • Flash point and pour point
  • Density and appearance

Test results are recorded per batch. The COA is issued before shipment and can be sent for your approval before goods are released.

Documentation & Inspection

Batch-Specific COA

Each shipment’s Certificate of Analysis is issued against its own production batch, so the test data you receive corresponds to the lot you receive.

Out-of-Spec Handling

Batches that do not meet their release specification are held and do not ship. Where a confirmed shipment is affected, we notify the customer promptly and arrange replacement or credit.

Shipment Documents

COA, TDS, SDS, and Certificate of Origin are provided with shipments. Additional product information can be supplied on request to support your review.

Third-Party Inspection

Pre-shipment inspections by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek can be arranged at the buyer’s request. We coordinate access and documentation; inspection costs are borne by the buyer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What test data is provided with each shipment?

Every shipment is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the specific production batch, with key physical and chemical parameters, test method references, and actual result values. SDS and TDS are also provided, and a Certificate of Origin where required for export. Pre-shipment COAs can be sent for your approval before goods are released.

Are CheMost products tested against industry performance specifications?

Our additive packages are formulated and internally validated against the relevant API (SN, SP, CK-4, etc.), ACEA, and OEM-aligned performance targets. We do not perform formal API licensing (which requires OEM-conducted engine testing), but our compositions and treat rates are designed to meet those targets. Customers who need formal API licensing should discuss this at the sampling stage.

How does CheMost handle out-of-specification batches?

Any batch that does not meet its release specification is placed on hold and does not ship. We investigate the cause before resuming, and if a confirmed shipment is affected we notify the customer promptly and arrange replacement or credit.

Can CheMost support our supplier qualification process?

Yes. We can provide a Certificate of Analysis for representative products, test method references, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, and a Certificate of Origin. Where you arrange it, we can also support third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek). Contact us with your qualification checklist and we’ll confirm which documents we can supply.
